Armed Clashes Displace Thousands in Blue Nile State
As of April 7, 2026, escalating violence and armed clashes in Sudan's Blue Nile State forced a new wave of civilians to flee their homes. The UN Secretary-General's Noon Briefing, citing the International Organization for Migration (IOM), reported that 4,000 people were displaced just in the preceding ten days. Many of those fleeing the clashes sought shelter in public buildings or crossed the border into Ethiopia.
