DRC Government and M23 Rebels Agree to Prisoner Exchange at Swiss Peace Talks
During regional peace talks hosted in Montreux, Switzerland, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) government and the M23 rebel group reached a progressive agreement to release 477 prisoners within 10 days and facilitate urgent humanitarian access. Despite the diplomatic progress, sporadic ground battle skirmishes actively continue across North Kivu.
