Russian Oil Flows via Druzhba Pipeline to Hungary Set to Resume Following Repairs
Incoming Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar announced on April 17, 2026, that Russian crude oil flows through the Druzhba pipeline via Ukraine could resume as early as next week. The pipeline has been out of operation since January 2026 following a drone strike. The restart follows intensive negotiations between the Hungarian refiner MOL and Russian energy officials, and is expected to lead to Hungary lifting its veto on a significant EU aid package for Ukraine.
