Wave of Gang Violence Displaces 13,000 in Centre Department
A severe wave of gang-related violence and territory seizures in Haiti's Centre Department resulted in the deaths of approximately 80 people and forced an estimated 13,000 residents to flee their homes. As the state apparatus continues to break down, the UN reported heavily deteriorating humanitarian conditions for these newly displaced civilians in makeshift camps.
