U.S. CENTCOM Implements Naval Blockade of All Iranian Ports
U.S. Central Command began enforcing a comprehensive naval blockade of all Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman at 10:00 a.m. ET on April 13, 2026. Acting under a presidential proclamation, the blockade targets all maritime traffic entering or exiting Iranian territory. While U.S. officials stated the blockade would not impede non-Iranian traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, the IRGC has declared the move a violation of the existing two-week ceasefire.
