US Central Command Implements Full Maritime Blockade of Iranian Ports
Following the collapse of high-level peace negotiations in Islamabad, US Central Command announced a total maritime blockade of all Iranian ports effective April 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET. The blockade, authorized by presidential proclamation, targets all commercial and military traffic entering or exiting Iranian territory in the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. CENTCOM clarified that freedom of navigation will be maintained for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to non-Iranian ports.
