Gran Grif Gang Massacre and Mass Displacement in Petite-Rivière de l'Artibonite
A brutal attack by the Gran Grif gang on the localities of Jean Denis and Pont Benoît resulted in at least 70 deaths and the immediate displacement of 8,954 individuals. According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Emergency Tracking Tool, 2,307 households fled across the Artibonite River to find refuge in Dessalines and Saint-Marc. Over 50 homes were burned, and residents reported systematic looting during the gang's territorial expansion into central departments.
