Israeli Strikes on Lebanon Kill 254 Amid Fragile US-Iran Truce
Despite a two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, Israeli forces launched a massive bombardment of Lebanon on April 8 and 9. At least 254 people were killed, including two journalists, as strikes hit residential and commercial areas in central Beirut and southern Lebanon. Prime Minister Netanyahu stated the truce does not apply to Hezbollah. In response, Hezbollah fired rocket salvos into northern Israel on April 9, citing ceasefire violations.
