Al Jazeera Journalist Killed in Israeli Strike in Gaza City
On April 8, 2026, Al Jazeera Mubasher correspondent Mohammed Wishah was killed when his vehicle was targeted by an Israeli drone strike at the Nabulsi junction in Gaza City. Following the incident, the World Health Organization (WHO) suspended all medical evacuations from Gaza to Egypt via the Rafah crossing citing security risks. The Gaza Media Office condemned the attack as a systematic targeting of press workers, bringing the journalist death toll since October 2023 to 262.
