Sudanese Army Breaks Siege of Dilling and Reopens Strategic Kordofan Supply Route

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) successfully recaptured the town of Al-Tukma and reopened the primary road linking Dilling in South Kordofan to North Kordofan on April 6, 2026. The operation broke a two-month blockade imposed by a coalition of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the SPLM-N (al-Hilu). Military reinforcements arrived in Dilling after repelling an RSF ground assault that included heavy artillery shelling on the city market. The move aims to alleviate a severe humanitarian crisis caused by the siege.
