IOM Reports 1,725 Newly Displaced in Sudan's Blue Nile State
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) documented the displacement of 1,725 individuals from Qaysan city in Sudan's Blue Nile State on April 2, 2026. This second wave of displacement in two weeks follows intensifying clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), and the SPLM-N. Families are fleeing toward Al-Rusayris and Wad Al-Mahi due to deteriorating security. The situation remains highly volatile as fighting expands across Darfur, Kordofan, and Blue Nile regions.
