Israeli Expansion of Lebanon Buffer Zone and Strike on Medics
On March 30, 2026, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the military to expand operations in southern Lebanon to establish a deeper security zone up to the Litani River. The World Health Organization confirmed that nine paramedics were killed and seven wounded in five separate Israeli strikes on Saturday. Additionally, an Israeli airstrike on a marked press vehicle killed three journalists, including Ali Choeib. Israel accused the personnel of being Hezbollah operatives, an allegation Lebanese media denied.
