M23 Rebels Announce Tactical Withdrawal from Frontline Positions in Eastern DRC

The movement stated the withdrawal is a confidence-building measure intended to facilitate upcoming inter-Congolese dialogue in Switzerland. The withdrawal comes after months of intense fighting that pushed rebel forces close to the regional capital of Goma.
