Al-Shabaab Assault on Galmudug Military Base
Al-Shabaab militants detonated a suicide car bomb at the gates of a Somali National Army base in the Galmudug region, followed by a sustained infantry assault. Somali forces, supported by local clan militias, successfully repelled the attack after three hours of combat. Ten militants and four soldiers were confirmed dead in the aftermath.
