US military strikes Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz
United States military forces have conducted airstrikes targeting Iranian positions on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz. While the US government suggests these are limited actions, Iran has publicly described the American response to its regional security plans as unconvincing. The situation remains volatile as Tehran signals the preparation of a 'maximum deterrence' plan in response to the escalation.
