Russian President Vladimir Putin formally rejected a proposal from Kyiv, which was reportedly backed by Washington, to implement a mutual halt on long-range strikes between Russia and Ukraine. The rejection underscores the ongoing escalation in the conflict, as both nations continue to target critical infrastructure and military assets deep within each other's territory, further dimming prospects for a near-term cessation of hostilities.
