Zelenskyy reports 2026 territorial changes and casualty figures
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russian forces have captured 890 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory throughout 2026, while Ukrainian forces have successfully liberated 800 square kilometers. The President also noted that these territorial shifts have come at a significant human cost, estimating that Russian forces have suffered approximately 270,000 casualties during the same period.
