Ukraine Targets Syzran Oil Refinery
Ukrainian forces conducted drone strikes overnight on September 15 against the Syzran Oil Refinery in Russia's Samara Oblast, igniting multiple fires within the complex. Regional officials had previously warned of the potential for such attacks. This strike is part of a broader ongoing Ukrainian campaign to degrade Russian energy infrastructure and logistics capabilities. The incident occurred amidst reports that the U.S. has pressured Ukraine to limit strikes on Russian oil facilities to curb global fuel shortages.
