Commercial tanker struck by projectile near Strait of Hormuz
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a commercial tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz near Khasab, Oman, on Sunday. The incident occurred during a period of heightened tensions following U.S. strikes on Iranian positions. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, and the extent of the damage to the vessel remains under assessment. Shipping traffic in the strait remains constrained as military forces increase patrols.
