Sudanese civil leaders launch initiative for national peace dialogue
A coalition of Sudanese civil society leaders launched a new initiative in Khartoum on Sunday to facilitate an internal national dialogue. The group aims to rebuild trust between political and community factions to prepare for formal negotiations to end the civil war. The move follows an offer of security guarantees by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, though several key opposition blocs remain skeptical, demanding more binding written commitments and the exclusion of military control.
