Ukraine launched one of its most extensive drone operations of the 4.5-year conflict, targeting multiple Russian regions overnight. Moscow officials claimed to have intercepted 453 unmanned aerial vehicles, while the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the destruction of significant Russian assets on August 19, including 50 artillery systems and 1,738 drones. Conversely, a Russian drone strike on a civilian bus in the southern city of Kherson resulted in at least four confirmed civilian fatalities.
