Drone Strike Targets South Zawiya Power Station, Disrupting Western Libya Grid
A drone attack completely destroyed the South Zawiya transformation station on August 12, causing widespread electricity outages across western Libya. This follows multiple strikes on the Zawiya Oil Refinery earlier this week. In a separate incident in eastern Libya, the Director of Military Intelligence for the Libyan National Army, Fawzi al-Mansouri, was assassinated in Benghazi, prompting calls from the US and UN for immediate de-escalation between rival administrations.
