Fatal Houthi Attack on Egyptian Commercial Vessel in Bab el-Mandeb
Iran-backed Houthi rebels launched a missile attack on the Egyptian-owned commercial vessel Tihamah near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The strike resulted in at least six fatalities, including three Pakistani crew members and one Indonesian national. The vessel was transiting the southern Red Sea when it was struck, marking one of the deadliest maritime incidents in the region recently. The internationally recognized Yemeni government confirmed the attack, which has prompted heightened maritime security alerts in the Gulf of Aden.
