New York Mayor Appeals to Trump Over Haitian TPS Termination
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani personally appealed to President Donald Trump to reconsider the termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian migrants. The appeal comes as the city is forced to dismiss municipal workers who have lost their legal work authorization following a recent Supreme Court ruling. The termination of TPS affects approximately 350,000 Haitians nationwide, sparking concerns over mass deportations and the destabilization of the Haitian diaspora.
