Islamist Militants Kill 10 Police Officers in Northwest Pakistan Drone and Ground Attack
Islamist militants killed 10 police officers in a coordinated attack on a security post in Pakistan's Hangu district, located near the Afghan border. The assault involved the use of improvised explosive devices carried by quadcopter drones, followed by a ground ambush. Islamabad accused the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan of planning the attack from safe havens in Afghanistan. This incident highlights a significant escalation in cross-border militancy, which has killed hundreds of security personnel and civilians since early 2026.
