Armed Violence Displaces Hundreds in Artibonite

Intensifying violence by armed gangs in the municipalities of Dessalines and Petite Rivière de l'Artibonite caused widespread panic and displacement. Between July 6 and July 10, armed clashes displaced 1,788 people across 436 households. The International Organization for Migration reported that the majority of internally displaced persons found shelter with host families in Gonaïves and nearby areas while avoiding gang-controlled territory.
