MNDAA assault on Lashio Town displaces thousands

The Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) launched a major offensive on military bases surrounding Lashio Town. Intense ground clashes and subsequent retaliatory airstrikes by the military junta caused at least 30,000 civilians to evacuate the city, fleeing towards safer areas in southern Shan State. Bridges and roads were destroyed during the offensive, trapping some residents, while those who managed to escape faced extreme economic hardships and lack of basic necessities in temporary shelters.
