Russia FSB Foils Coordinated Drone Attacks on Shagol and Ukrainka Air Bases
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced on July 13, 2026, that it intercepted a large-scale Ukrainian operation involving balloons and drones intended to strike the Shagol air base in the Urals and the Ukrainka base in the Far East. The FSB stated that several perpetrators were detained in the Bryansk region while attempting to transport drone containers toward the targets. The foiled plot resembles a major 2025 attack that previously damaged several aircraft at the same facilities.
