Afghanistan airstrikes trigger civilian displacement and casualties

A deadly series of airstrikes struck civilian areas across Paktya, Paktika, and Kunar provinces in Afghanistan, leaving at least 28 civilians dead and 49 others injured. The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) noted that the sudden aerial bombardments triggered immediate panic, leading to the new displacement of an estimated 500 residents who fled the impacted villages to seek safety in neighboring districts away from the bombardment zones.
