Insecurity in Um Baru Locality
Heightened insecurity and armed conflict in the Um Baru locality of North Darfur forced local residents to flee their homes. According to the International Organization for Migration's Displacement Tracking Matrix (IOM DTM), approximately 2,260 people were displaced from the villages of Orschi and Dou on June 17. The displacement highlights the continuing volatility in the Darfur region as civilian populations remain highly vulnerable to sudden outbreaks of localized violence.
