Gang Clashes in Artibonite Displace Over 2,600

During the third week of June 2026, severe armed violence between rival gang federations erupted across Haiti's Artibonite department. The resulting instability forced more than 2,600 residents to abandon their homes. According to the IOM, over three-quarters of the newly displaced sought emergency refuge in the commune of Marchand Dessalines.
