US Forces Conduct Retaliatory Strikes on Iranian Military Infrastructure
US Central Command forces conducted multiple precision strikes against Iranian military targets including air defense sites, communication systems, and drone storage facilities on June 27, 2026. The action followed a one-way drone attack by Iranian forces on the Panama-flagged tanker M/T Kiku in the Strait of Hormuz earlier that morning. CENTCOM stated the strikes were necessary to protect commercial shipping routes after Iran repeatedly violated recent ceasefire terms through aggressive maritime operations and surveillance activities.
