Expansion of 'Yellow Line' Forces Dozens of Families to Flee in Eastern Gaza City
On June 12, 2026, dozens of families were forcibly displaced from eastern Gaza City after Israeli troops placed cement blocks to expand the restricted 'Yellow Line' military zone westward. Worsening insecurity and the threat of violence forced the families to flee without their tents or belongings. The UN reported that they took refuge with nearby relatives. Utilizing IDMC calculations for local evacuations, it is estimated that around 200 people were newly displaced by this specific zone expansion.
