RSF Mobilizes Mass Reinforcements for Impending Assault on El Obeid
Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have positioned unprecedented reinforcements, including armored vehicles and heavy artillery, around the strategic city of El Obeid in North Kordofan as of June 16, 2026. Military sources report that the RSF has established positions to the west, south, and north of the city, indicating a potential multi-front ground offensive within 72 hours. Recent RSF drone strikes have already targeted fuel stations and military depots to weaken the city's defenses.
