Armed Skiffs Launch Rocket-Propelled Grenade Attack on Tanker off Yemen

Two merchant vessels were attacked by armed individuals in skiffs in the Gulf of Aden on June 14. In one incident, a tanker located 111 nautical miles southeast of Aden was approached by four armed men who fired a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG). A separate approach targeted a containership 14 nautical miles south of the coast. Both attacks were thwarted by onboard security or evasive maneuvers, and no casualties or significant damage were reported by the UKMTO.
