Tens of Thousands Clash in Rival Migration Protests in Rome

Massive rival demonstrations took place in Rome as tens of thousands of people marched for and against European migration policies. A right-wing march promoted a citizen petition for sweeping 'remigration' measures and deportations, with some participants performing fascist salutes. Meanwhile, a massive left-wing, pro-migration counter-protest marched through another sector of the capital. Thousands of police officers were heavily deployed to keep the factions separated.
