Hundreds of families flee Ibb due to Houthi repression
A report released on June 10, 2026, by the Justice and Development Bridges Organization revealed that approximately 260 families fled Yemen's Ibb Governorate to escape a severe repression campaign by Houthi militias. The armed group targeted academic and medical professionals, abducting 115 individuals. Fearing for their lives, these families—totaling roughly 1,300 newly displaced individuals—abandoned their homes and property to seek refuge in government-controlled areas such as Marib, Aden, and Taiz.
