IDF issues evacuation order for entire city of Tyre
On June 9, 2026, the Israeli Defense Forces issued a mass displacement order for the entire city of Tyre, forcing nearly 44,000 people to flee the area, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The military declared the area a combat zone and followed the evacuation orders with intense airstrikes that killed eight civilians. Many of the displaced were already refugees seeking shelter from previous operations in southern Lebanon.
