Israeli troops kill infant in West Bank vehicle shooting

A 7-month-old Palestinian baby, Sam Fahd Abu Haikal, was killed by Israeli military fire in the Tel Rumeida area of Hebron on the evening of June 5. The infant's parents were also wounded when soldiers opened fire on their vehicle. The Israeli military stated that soldiers responded with single shots to a vehicle perceived as accelerating toward them. An initial inquiry found the occupants were uninvolved civilians, prompting calls for an investigation from the British Consulate.
