Violent armed gang attacks on May 26 in the commune of Petite Rivière de Bayonnais in Haiti's Artibonite department triggered a new localized displacement wave. The International Organization for Migration reported that 1,100 residents were forced to flee and seek refuge with host families in the nearby city of Gonaïves.
