Lt. Gen. Kevin Leahy assumes command of U.S. Army Central
Lt. Gen. Kevin Leahy officially took command of U.S. Army Central (ARCENT) and Third Army on June 4, 2026, during a ceremony held in the Middle East. Presided over by CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper, the event marked the transfer of leadership from Lt. Gen. Patrick Frank, who served as ARCENT's longest-serving commander. Lt. Gen. Frank will now move to serve as the deputy commander at U.S. Central Command, following a tenure focused on theater defense and logistics excellence.
