Tigray People's Liberation Front Moves to Fully Reclaim Regional Control in Ethiopia
In a significant challenge to the fragile peace in the Horn of Africa, the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) has moved to reinstate the 2020 regional government and consolidate military control over the Tigray region. This unilateral action has triggered emergency security meetings in Addis Ababa, with observers warning of a potential return to full-scale hostilities. The move follows months of simmering tensions over resource allocation and regional autonomy between the TPLF and the federal Prosperity Party.
