Nigeria Union of Teachers Launches Nationwide Protest Over School Abductions
Public primary and secondary schools across Oyo State and other parts of Nigeria were shut down as teachers began a nationwide protest organized by the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT). Demonstrators rallied to demand the unconditional release of pupils and teachers abducted by armed men from three schools in Oriire LGA in mid-May.
