Myanmar Junta Air and Drone Strikes in Khin-U Township
On May 21, 2026, a Myanmar junta fighter jet deployed from Tada-U Air Base conducted coordinated aerial and suicide drone strikes on Ywa Sin village in Sagaing Region's Khin-U Township. Mizzima reported that the bombardment destroyed over 20 civilian homes, resulting in 450 newly displaced villagers fleeing the immediate vicinity. Four civilians were killed instantly and seven others were injured in the attack, exacerbating the broader displacement crisis in the embattled Sagaing area.
