U.S. Attacks Southern Iran and Loses Reaper Drone Amid Ceasefire Talks
The United States launched military strikes on southern Iran, sinking two Iranian ships that were attempting to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz. In retaliation, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shot down a U.S. Reaper drone that entered Iranian airspace. This significant military escalation occurred while Iranian negotiators were in Qatar discussing a potential ceasefire to end the ongoing conflict.
