Multi-Day Journey Out of Frontline Donetsk Oblast
Relentless combat operations and systematic bombardment forced 17 civilians to abandon their homes in the heavily contested Donetsk Oblast in mid-May 2026. Evacuation updates published by Tochnyi.info on May 16 detailed that the displaced individuals undertook arduous, multi-day journeys to reach safer locations away from the immediate frontlines. The continuous erosion of infrastructure across Donetsk leaves remaining populations highly vulnerable, prompting steady trickles of new civilian flight when brief lulls in fighting permit travel.
