Deadly Clashes Between Pakistani Forces and BLA in Balochistan
On May 15, 2026, fierce clashes broke out between Pakistani security forces and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in Pakistan's Balochistan province. The engagement resulted in the deaths of five Pakistani soldiers, including an army major, and seven insurgents. These hostilities underscore the persistent instability in the region as separatist groups continue to target military personnel and infrastructure. The incident reflects a significant uptick in regional violence amid ongoing ethnic and political grievances within the resource-rich but underdeveloped province.
