Israeli Bombing Targets Residential Block in Gaza's Al-Shati Refugee Camp
Israeli airstrikes targeted a residential block in the Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City, on May 9, 2026. The Gaza Health Ministry reported that the strikes killed at least four people and wounded 15 others. This renewed bombardment comes amid a deadlock in disarmament negotiations between Hamas and the Gaza Board of Peace. Humanitarian agencies report the camp remains severely overcrowded, with infrastructure further degraded by ongoing naval and aerial operations in northern Gaza.
