CENTCOM Intercepts Iranian Attacks on U.S. Destroyers in Strait of Hormuz
On May 7, 2026, Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones, and small boats at the USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason as they transited the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. Central Command confirmed that no U.S. assets were struck during the engagement. The incident represents a significant escalation during a fragile ceasefire and highlights ongoing Iranian efforts to assert sovereignty over the vital international waterway through its recently implemented transit regulations.
