930 civilians evacuated from Donetsk frontline areas over the weekend
Facing intensified Russian strikes on civilian infrastructure and settlements, Ukrainian authorities and humanitarian partners conducted emergency evacuations from front-line areas in the Donetsk region. Over the weekend of May 2, 2026, an evacuation operation successfully relocated 930 civilians, including more than 180 children, away from the active combat zones to safer locations, according to a May 4 UN OCHA situation report.
